Baldy Mt. Electronics Site Summer of 2007 Work Season

SPR’s Baldy Mt. Electronics Site landlord Randy Stone reports that the road is still blocked by snow.

The first task to be addressed once access is available is installation of the new KUNC translator (see below). Also, work will begin immediately on the installation of permanent Tower C.

Preliminary inspections will be made by SPR contractors All Electric Company and Iowa Milling in preparation for this summer’s activities.

Baldy Mt. Electronics Site Conditional and Special Use Permits

A meeting is to be held with Brad LaRochelle of the Summit County planning Dept. to discuss,

1. The creation by Summit County local government of a special land-use designation for the Baldy Mt. ridge as a dedicated electronics site, to include both National Forest and private lands;

2. The creation of a lease agreement between Summit County and SPR;

3. An amendment to the Conditional Use Permit application to include placement of the donated building-on-skids on the Jove mine claim near the New Head-end antenna support structure.

FM Translator Updates

88.3 KUNC/K202CV

This FM translator is functioning properly using SPR’s backup translator. A new translator has been received from KUNC to be installed as soon as the Baldy site becomes accessible. An output filter will be installed during the 2007 Baldy work season.

89.3 KVOD/K207CK

This FM translator is functioning properly.

89.7 KUVO/K209ED

This translator is functioning properly, using the digital audio stream available from the KUVO website and the Winamp pro stream player. Efforts are being made to restore the remote control which failed recently.

94.3 KBCO/DK232AC

This FM translator is functioning properly. An output filter may be installed during the 2007 Baldy work season.

95.3 KTUN/K237BI

This FM translator is functioning properly. An output filter may be installed during the 2007 Baldy work season.

107.1 KUNC/K296CL

This FM translator is functioning properly.

107.9 KLDV/K300AE

This FM translator is functioning well. An output filter will be installed during the 2007 Baldy work season.

TV Translator Updates:

Channel 8 KCNC‑4/CBS/DK08MN

This translator is receiving minor interference from the KLDV FM translator adversely affecting the TV picture quality.

Channel 10 KMGH‑7/ABC/DK10ON

This translator is functioning well; the audio degradation is not so severe.

Channel 12 KUSA‑9/NBC/DK12PF

This TV translator is functioning properly.
