Dear SPR Members,
Thanks to all of you for your continued support of Summit Public Radio! Please join us on August 4 for SPR’s annual hike and picnic so that we may thank you in person. Details of this event are in this Signal.
As I write to you, all of our FM stations are ‘on the air’ sending out clear signals . With the snow finally off of Baldy Mountain, we have access to SPR’s main electronics site for the next 2 to 3 months. Some of the activities that we will implement are: replacing coaxial cable; installing a new translator for KUNC; beginning the installation of a ‘green’ uninterruptible power supply – solar panels and a wind generator; continuing to dismantle unused buildings on the site and enhancing our primary buildings. All activities are intended to enhance the radio signals we send into Summit County. It is your contributions that support and permit all of these activities. Thank you!
Over the next year, we are planning to bring our communications with you into the 21st century.
o Our website www.summitpublicradio.org is being updated. You can see the programming for many of our FM radio stations. We have added the ability for you to make contributions online using PayPal. Over time, we will enhance the content with information about events, articles on enhancing FM reception, summary of our Listener Satisfaction Survey, planned activities at our electronics sites, etc.
o We plan to move The Signal, this newsletter, online also. After the Winter 2008 issue, we will email the newsletter to you. Please ensure that we have an accurate email address for you.
