SUMMIT PUBLIC RADIO MINUTES  

County Commons, Mt. Royal Room, 5:45 PM, 24 July 2006

   Minutes for the last (April 24, 2006) meeting had been e-mailed to the board and were approved as written.

I. OLD BUSINESS 

  A. FINANCE: Paul Finkel had e-mailed the latest bank balances, etc. to the Board and there were no comments at the meeting. There is little change from last month, we have about $92,000 in the bank.

  B. MEMBERSHIP: We are up to about 300 members for the year vs. close to 400 for last year. In order to attract new members, Marsha has obtained a two-for-one for full-pages in the SDN. The Board unanimously passed a motion to use about $671 for these and Marsha will determine the times and contents.

  C. ENGINEERING: Gary handed out the engineering report. There had been several problems during the last few months with the data stream from KUVO in Denver and heavy wind damage to the KVOD receive and transmit antennas. The antennas have been fixed or replaced and further improvements will be made over the summer. The data stream from KUVO has been re-established.

   The KUNC 108.1 Dillon transceiver malfunctioned and was replaced with our back-up translator. The Board authorized Gary to investigate the purchase of another translator to act as a new backup.

 D. BALDY EVENT: This took place on 21 July and six members participated.
