 SUMMIT PUBLIC RADIO MINUTES

County Commons, Mt. Royal Room, 5:45 PM, 23 October 2006

In Attendance: Sue Greene (presiding), Judy Noble, Gary Peterson, John Roberts, Don Dettmering, Sue Paluska, Roger Paluska, Anne Stonington, and Paul Finkel.

Minutes for the last (August 28, 2006) meeting had been e-mailed to the board and were approved as written.

Sue announced that we have a new Board member - Tom Scanlan who will serve on the Technical Committee.

I. OLD BUSINESS

  A. FINANCIAL: Paul Finkel stated that we have about $98,000 in the bank which will be reduced by $20,000 or so when Gary submits his labor bills for this year. Paul wants to make the fiscal reporting year the same as our tax year, which is the calendar year and the Board had no objections.

There was considerable discussion about our web page, links to other web pages, and placing of a membership/donation form on our web.

  B. BOARD-MEMBER HANDBOOK: Judy Noble  has started the handbook as a fourteen-page loose-leaf document and passed out copies to the members present. The handbook will be expanded with various updates and reports by committees  and Judy asks that all Board members bring their handbooks to meetings for such updates.

  C. ENGINEERING: Gary handed out a two-page report of the present status of  all the FM translators  and the three TV translators.. The FM translators are all working with small quality problems with KVOD and KUVO.  The three TV translators are working but two have poor picture or audio quality. The report also outlined the site work needed to be accomplished before the Conditional Use and Special Use permits can be finalized.

D: MEETING AGENDAS: The November meeting will have a typical agenda. The January 22  meeting will concentrate on engineering work needed for next summer. The February 26 meeting will concentrate on the budget.
