| John Mirro, Vice President |
|
Taking nature pictures of landscapes and wildlife make Summit County the perfect place to live for John Mirro. He and his wife, Linda, have a keen interest in photography and travel to places like Wyoming and Montana to catch wild horses and grizzly bear in their lens. John even maintains several websites for marketing their work. This activity keeps John’s creative side alive and well, as well as giving him a focal point when he travels. He and Linda have driven across the US twice just this year, and spent a lot of time photographing wildlife in northern Wyoming and Montana in Yellowstone, the Tetons, and Glacier National Park. Photography and Linda have both been part of John’s life ever since graduate school. He met Linda on a blind date on New Year’s Eve in 1966. They have 4 sons, all of whom are married, and 8 grandchildren, 2 boys and 6 girls. Their sons have varied careers; a VP of a computer systems company, an archeologist, a consultant for agricultural operations, and a manager for a biological hardware manufacturer. John attended Stevens Institute of Technology where he received his BS in Engineering. He then received his MS in Engineering at Northwestern University. Before retiring, John was a sales manager for a number of high-tech companies. After speaking with Marsha Cooper about SPR, he decided to use his engineering knowledge to assist SPR by taking the position of VP Technical Development and Webmaster. John would like to attract more listeners and supporters through the SPR website. Before living in Summit County, John lived in Long Valley, New Jersey, which is a smaller town than Breckenridge. He was attracted to Colorado by the skiing and the beautiful summers. He had owned a home in Summit County since 1995, but finally decided to make it his permanent residence 6 years ago. Since moving into the area, John has become involved in several activities. He especially enjoys teaching such training skills as negotiations, leadership, management, organization, and motivation for local organizations. This gives him the opportunity to assist people in advancing their careers and their lives. In addition, John enjoys travel, writing, skiing, fly-fishing, motorcycle riding, and RVing. |
