| Sue Greene, President |
|
Before arriving in Summit County, Sue
received a BA and MA in Mathematics. She worked for IBM from 1960 to
1993, holding various Marketing and Strategic Planning positions. She
began living part-time in Summit County in 1993 and by the fall of 1998
she was a full-time resident. Her sense of adventure got her involved in
sailing, biking, kayaking, and a lot of traveling. Traveling comes in
big time for Sue. In the past few years, she has traveled to South
Africa, Namibia, Brazil, sailing in the Sea of Cortez and Croatia’s
Dalmation Coast. In 2006, Sue traveled with her grandson to Ecuador’s
rain forest and the Galapagos. When asked what her favorite place
on the planet is, she responded, “Wherever I am!” Sue began working with Summit Public Radio
in 1999 after deciding to make Summit County her permanent home. Sue
Paluska, an SPR Board member, encouraged her to come to a board meeting.
After a short period of volunteering for various projects, she accepted
the responsibility of Vice President and in April 2005 she became
President of the Board. As President, Sue would like to improve the
quality of reception of NPR stations in areas of the county where we
broadcast and she would also like to expand our coverage within Summit
County where it is technologically and financially feasible. Sue is also very busy with family. She has a
daughter, Leslie, who lives with her husband, Ben Smith, and their 6
year old daughter, Mollie, in New York City. Leslie is Vice President of
Legal and Business Affairs with a music publishing company. Sue also has
a son, Marc, and a daughter-in-law, Ellen, who live in Brookville, New
York on Long Island. Marc manages jazz programming for a local
university radio station and Ellen is with the NASDAQ. Marc and Ellen
enjoy an 12 year old son, Andrew, and a 9 year old daughter, Laura. With her community activities, her world
travels, and her role of grandma, Sue truly personifies the very best
that Summit County has to offer. We are all very proud and lucky to have
her as one of our own. |
